OJ Simpson says Henry Ruggs’ prison sentence ‘does not add up’

What could be one of the biggest stories in the NFL just got bigger. Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs was just sentenced to 3-10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to Vehicular Manslaughter and DUI. Click here for the full details on his sentencing. Now, OJ Simpson, who blew up headlines for the murder of his ex-wife, says Ruggs’ sentence is light.

It was reported that the 24-year-old Ruggs climbed up to speeds as high as 156 miles per hour while holding a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit when the crash occurred. Ruggs would strike 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog Max, ultimately killing both of them in a collision on Nov. 2, 2021.

A day after Ruggs faced his sentence, Simpson strangely commented on his sentence.

“The math just does not add up … I know I went to college on a football scholarship but somehow this math is not adding up to me. You’re driving a car at roughly 160 miles per hour on a public street and end up killing a girl and her dog and you get three to ten years? … You go to a hotel room that you’re invited to to retrieve your own personal stolen property, property I now have because it was ruled to be mine by the state of California, and you get nine to 33 years?”

This puzzles not only me, but I’m sure a lot more people as well. Simpson is famous for two reasons, being an elite running back in the NFL and for murdering his ex-wife. Simpson faced 9-33 years in prison for the murder of his wife, and is now concerned over Ruggs’ sentence? Odd. Simpson would be let out after nine years in 2017 for good behavior.
