Boomer Esiason rightfully rips Colin Cowherd after Dwayne Haskins comment
Only shortly after Colin Cowherd made one of the most insecure comments in sports media history, Boomer Esiason ripped the TV host a new one, and rightfully so.
It was just a day ago when Colin Cowherd sent the sports media world into a complete frenzy when he claimed Dwayne Haskins, a former Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins quarterback, couldn’t win a Super Bowl. Well, to the casual fan, you might be thinking that’s not all too bad, he might just be a bad player. Well, to inform the non-NFL fans, Haskins died last April after being struck by another vehicle.
“You’re not paying a guy that much money to be that stupid. I’m sorry. You’re just not,” Esiason said. “He mentions his name. It’s one thing if it’s on a graphic. … That goes back to the people that are working behind the scenes. That shows a lack of dedication I think. I think it’s just laziness.”
Not only was Cowherd upset over during the show, but for all the wrong reasons. On one of Cowherd’s graphics, it says “Colin’s QBs that can win Super Bowls” not “Colin’s QBs that can’t win Super Bowls”. When the TV host noticed that, he went into a frenzy, but didn’t care when he mentioned a QB who died in horrific fashion. Real classy Cowherd, real classy.
“That shows a lack of professionalism, it shows a lack of dedication and somebody let something slip,” Esiason said. “And they’re led by a guy that doesn’t seem to really care when he makes mistakes because he’s made a 100 of them. … He’s trying to be a legitimate sports talk host and he mentions a dead quarterback? … That is not on purpose. That is just not knowing what you’re talking about.”
Although Cowherd is technically right, it doesn’t account for the absolutely sickening comment he made. When is this guy going to learn to keep his mouth shut? I know it’s for attention, but really, pick on the guy who is dead? How does this guy still have a job? NFL insider Adam Schefter had an insensitive comment toward Haskins when reporting his death. Can this stuff stop? But really, I want to give a special shout-out to Boomer Esiason for holding Cowherd accountable and ripping him a new one.
