Maxx Crosby hopes Raiders retain Antonio Pierce
With winning ways looming back in Las Vegas, star pass rusher Maxx Crosby hopes the Raiders will retain their interim head coach Antonio Pierce.
Las Vegas has struggled the past few seasons. Former head coach Josh McDaniels was thought to be the answer for the Raiders, but that thought quickly ended. After finishing his first year as the Raiders’ head coach with a record of 6-11 and starting the 2023 season off 3-5, it was time to move on.
Now enter interim head coach Antonio Pierce.
Pierce has shown that he can quickly become a leader for this Raiders team, something that they have been dying of for years.
“There’s only 32 [NFL] head coaches in the whole world,” Crosby said Thursday, via ESPN Paul Gutierrez. “So you’ve got to find a leader of men. And when you’ve got one of them in the building currently, I don’t know why you would let them go.”
In his small coaching tenure with the Raiders, Pierce has shown that Las Vegas can compete with anyone. Beating down opponents, including the New York Giants, New York Jets, Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs.
“I’ve made the playoffs one time in five years. It’s bulls—,” Crosby said. “And we’ve got to figure out what we’re going to do moving forward. And I’m sick of change. I’m sick of losing. I just want stability and (expletive) consistency, and that’s all that matters to me. I want to win.
Although the Raiders have been eliminated from this year’s playoffs, Pierce and the rest of the roster have shown a lot of promise heading into next season. Raider Nation could be back sooner than you think.
