Las Vegas Raiders Fire HC Josh McDaniels, GM Dave Zeigler
Las Vegas Raiders fans all over the globe are rejoicing, as the team announced tonight they have fired both Head Coach Josh McDaniels and General Manager Dave Ziegler. The news broke late tonight by Adam Schefter. The team has announced that LB coach Antonio Pierce will be stepping in as interim HC. McDaniels posted an overall record of 9-16 during his year and a half with the Raiders.
This Las Vegas Raiders team without Josh McDaniels is something that fans of the team have been asking for, really, since this past off-season. The Raiders handed McDaniels a six-year deal in 2022, which left many Raiders fans scratching their heads. Now, they finally can take a deep breath as the nightmare has ended. But fans should also be excited for a new man leading this team, as Dave Ziegler did not earn himself many fans with some of the decisions he has made.
Famously, Ziegler passed on Jalen Carter (don’t have to tell Chickster twice) which had fans up in arms. Before that, there was the terrible decision to sign Jimmy Garoppolo. There has been a laundry list of other moves he has made as well, probably too many to list here. Now, with Ziegler and Josh McDaniels gone from the Las Vegas Raiders, this team can finally start to move forward, instead of constantly going backward. First order of business? Announce that Aidan O’Connell is the starter through the end of the year. Chickster said it, and he is right. While they maybe should have been sellers at the trade deadline, there is no reason this team can’t start playing the young guys and see what the future looks like.
