Would you look at that? Some people out there actually have honor and integrity. The best part of this story is the timing. The Carolina Hurricanes were eliminated from the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs after being swept by the 8 seed Panthers in the Conference Finals. Moments after the Canes were eliminated, one fan did the right thing. The Max Pacioretty curse has officially been lifted.

Credit to Robert. This man may have just saved the entire Carolina Hurricanes franchise. They should build this man a statue outside of the stadium. Robert is a hero and the Hurricanes will no longer be burden of this curse.

Think of all the bad things that happened to the Canes since the curse? The Andrei Svechnikov ACL tear probably ended their season. Don Waddell acted like a total coward at the deadline and came away with minnows like Jesse Puljujärvi who never helped the team. This team was heading down a bad path and wasted a lot of cap space on that bum Max Pacioretty. Who knows what would have happened next if Robert didn’t step in?

I Am Inflicting The Max Pacioretty Curse On The Carolina Hurricanes

Time will tell where the Hurricanes go from here. I assume they will be wiser with their cap space this time around. Maybe instead of blowing a $7 million AAV on a guy that never plays, maybe they make sure to spend that money on someone who does?

Truth be told, I’m glad I don’t have to keep punishing the Canes. I love Sebastian Aho. He’s one of my favorite players in the league. Rod might be the best coach in the league. The Canes are doing a lot of things right. Their fans just act like complete dopes and I hope they have learned their lesson. You don’t want me on your bad side. It won’t end well for you.
