I Am Inflicting The Max Pacioretty Curse On The Carolina Hurricanes

I said I wasn’t going to let the uneducated Hurricane fan base impact the way that I view the franchise. However, as stated on the daily show last night, when they started sending me mental health links, they made their stance clear. It’s war time. Welcome to a dance with the devil. You’re not going to like the result. I am officially inflicting the Max Pacioretty curse on the Hurricanes franchise.

I didn’t want it to come to this but I feel as though I have no choice. You have 48 hours Hurricane fans. Do the right thing and apologize. I am asking one Hurricane fan to admit the Pacioretty trade was an L. A failure to comply will result in a curse. pic.twitter.com/effqr1FGZ5

For those who are a little lost, let me catch you up to speed. When Pacioretty was traded to Carolina this offseason, the NHL fans everywhere lost their mind. How could you trade Pacioretty for future considerations? The VGK were mocked and Pacioretty tried to make them out to be a Mickey Mouse franchise on his way out the door.

Karma sucks. It turns out the only one who wasn’t accountable was Pacioretty. He tore his Achilles twice within a six month span and Carolina is stuck with $7 million of dead cap on the books. Tough scenes! If only someone educated could have told you that was going to happen…

Based on how the rest of the NHL fandom acted, I felt that it was only right for them to apologize to the VGK. You know, since it’s undeniable that they now won the trade. Carolina could have used that $7 million to re-sign any of the number of players they let walk (Tony DeAngelo, Vincent Trocheck, Dougie Hamilton, and Nino Niederreiter).

Instead of being accountable for their actions, the Hurricane fans doubled down. All you have to do is click that tweet and look at all of the horrible things the Canes fans sent me.

I don’t think it’s too much to ask for. Just admit the trade was an L. The uneducated dopey Carolina fans are unwilling to do the right thing. Forget about doing the right thing. They doubled down and attacked more after being wrong. I don’t take kindly to being sent mental health links. I have no patience for the fanboy stuff and in reality, they should be happy this is all I’m doing. Trey is a nice guy that wanted good things for the Hurricanes. The signs apparently didn’t see it that way.

The curse is a go. The Hurricanes can go to hell. I am placing the Max Pacioretty curse on their franchise. That is until one Hurricane fan does the right thing and admits that it was a terrible trade. Be happy that’s all I’m requesting.

I take this very seriously. I have only laid out one curse before. The Titans have been down bad since I put the curse on them. They have been totally irrelevant and somehow lost AJ Brown in the process. Until I get my case of beer the Titans will remain cursed.

I truly can’t believe it’s come to this. A team that I actually like and root for will now get a taste of what the devil looks like. I will inflict pain on this franchise until someone does the right thing.
