Mario Cristobal Will Always Be A Meathead

I’m still not over what happened against Georgia Tech. People have given Mario Cristobal a hard time but I just don’t think this is something he can live down. Mostly because it’s not the first time it happened either. Mario Cristobal is and has always been a total meathead.

Again, it should be noted that this isn’t the first time this has happened. Mario blew a game in this exact fashion when he was at Oregon. It’s one thing to make this mistake once. It’s another thing to repeat that same mistake to cost your team the win.

I know we’re a couple of weeks removed from this now but I’m still not over it. I’m not saying Miami should have fired him on the spot. However, they should know that they’re never going to return the program back to pure dominance under his watch.

Cristobal continues to prove over and over again that he’s not a real head coach. Once upon a time, Tyler Van Dyke was viewed as a first round quarterback. His stock totally plummeted under his watch. I was a big fan of Justin Herbert at Oregon. Then he took over and the offense went to hell. It’s was the ultimate pumpkin spice latte offense that totally limits the quarterback.

At some point, you have to do more than recruit. Cristobal is an offensive line coach at heart and he’s recruited some really good players on the line of scrimmage. He’s gotta bring more to the table than having grit and recruiting. If you can’t manage the clock and can’t manufacture high powered offense, why should he be tasked with a head coaching job at a major program?

At the end of the day, there is such a thing called victory formation. If your head coach doesn’t understand that, we don’t have a starting point. Cristobal is a total meathead and there’s no reason to buy Miami stock as a National Title contender for as long as he’s there.
