DraftKings is one of the power players in the gambling industry. They have a loyal customer base. I’m not denying that. However, what I do want to chat about today is the fact that DraftKings has absolutely no clue what they’re doing from a content perspective.
The person who’s in charge of the hiring process at DraftKings has no idea what they’re doing and it’s so obvious. I get the fact that they have money to spend but at what point does it become crazy to blow millions of dollars on talentless hacks that aren’t providing revenue?
For starters, their website sucks. It’s a maze that just tries to get you to gamble. That’s fine but you can’t actually find their content anywhere without going through 800 hoops. Why are you paying these people if nobody can find it? Their content website is a totally different entity that SB Nation is somehow involved with. It doesn’t make any sense unless you’re the idiot running this operation. If you have that much money, how about doing things the right way and attaching your content site to the main site?
They can do whatever they want but they should know that it’s costing them money. Nobody can find the content site and it’s not helping them gain users for their betting platform.
The YouTube channel is a complete joke. At the current moment, they have 160 thousand subscribers. I assume most of them subscribe because of the betting platform and then never actually view the content because it’s the only way to explain the numbers.
Nobody even tries to watch Dan Le Batard or the idiot Golic crew. It’s impossibly bad numbers. Go look for yourself. With that many subscribers, it’s almost impossible that their videos get that little traction. Some of Golic and Le Betard’s videos struggle to crack 100 views. Our videos do better with a shade under 2K subscribers. Explain that to me.
It’s easy to explain. It’s hiring the ESPN rejects who have no talent in the hope that people pay attention to us! It’s a joke. I mean, did you see Le Batard’s thing on Damian Lillard? That was so embarrassing. No wonder why nobody views their content despite having endless resources.
The only show worth viewing on their YouTube Channel is the GM Shuffle by Michael Lombardi. He’s on the list of respect for a reason. If you look at their channel, it’s not hard to notice that he’s the only show doing any sort of numbers. It’s GM Shuffle and the rest of the content gets virtually zero viewership. That shouldn’t happen with the resources they have.
They spent all this money on Jared Carrabis. He’s on the cover of their YouTube channel. You can’t find him anywhere. He’s nowhere to be found. How is that possible? Explain that to me.
The person in charge of DraftKings from a content perspective is as clueless as it gets. Imagine what I could build with the financial resources they have. DraftKings can do whatever they want but they should be embarrassed about what they’re building from a content perspective.
