The future of the Oklahoma City Thunder doesn’t look pretty. Where do they go from here? #ThunderUp (Zach Beeker/NBAE via Getty Images)

The Oklahoma City Westbricks lost in the first round again. SHOCKER… If you have a brain and have been paying attention, then you would know that the Thunder never had a chance to begin with. I know the NBA Shorts guys nailed it…

Now the real question remains. After losing in the first round for a third consecutive year, where do the Thunder go from here? It’s a bleak future to say the least.

Let’s start with the obvious. If the Thunder can find a suitable Russell Westbrook trade, they should do it. Then again, they should have traded him 8 years ago. Westbrook is a worthless player. He provides zero value. I take that back; He provides negative value. 36 percent shooting in the playoffs and a small brain to keep shooting anyway. Oklahoma City owes Westbrook upwards of $40 million per year for the next 4 years. I’d move him for a bag of chips. Oklahoma City will never win with him. End of story.

Next, Oklahoma City needs to find more shooting. Steven Adams can’t be on the floor late in games so trade him too. Andre Roberson can’t shoot either. That makes him worthless. Thank you, next. The Thunder starting 5 should be Dennis Schroeder, 2 shooters, Paul George, and Jerami Grant. Now that team would compete. Paul George is awesome. He was the MVP of the league mid-way through the season. If Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams are 2 of the 3 best players on the team, then you’re screwed. Simple as that.

Oklahoma City has an awful payroll structure. OKC just paid a luxury tax bill of more than $60 million for a team that got knocked out in the first round in 5 games. Not to mention they lost to a Portland team who got swept by New Orleans the year prior. Portland also had Enes Kanter as it’s starting center who OKC claimed couldn’t play and was traded for decrepit, Carmelo Anthony.

It’s not that hard to figure out. This team is screwed until it moves off Westbrook. Investing big money in a center like Steven Adams isn’t a good idea either. I can’t even begin to imagine how the Thunder can find a trade partner for them. Sorry, not sorry, Thunder fans. Your team will always be known as the franchise that handed the keys over to a total moron. It’s the reason why you don’t have James Harden anymore. It’s the reason why Kevin Durant left. Want to save the franchise? Find a way to rid yourself of Westbrook. It’s not hard to figure out.
