The Kylian Mbappe Extension Saga Took An Interesting Turn Today
Kylian Mbappe is regarded among the greatest soccer players walking planet earth today. The way he has changed the game of soccer internationally is well known. There have been rumors swirling for a long time now that Mbappe has wanted a move to Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid, then you have Maurico Pochettino claiming that he will stay at PSG along with the manager. So, who is to believe? Well, we had some news break today that claimed one thing, then immediately following some conflicting news dropped.
Le Parisien, a major news publication in France, broke the news today that Kylian Mbappe had signed an agreement to stay with PSG on a two-year agreement, having a deal in place agreed on principle. The details showed Mbappe agreeing to a deal that would make him 50m Euros along with a signing bonus of 100m Euros. This news broke this morning and I am sure that PSG fans breathed a sigh of relief until Mbappe’s mother had something to say about it.
Fayza Lamary, mother of Kylian Mbappe, released a statement shortly after the news broke about the deal saying the whole thing was untrue. In her statement, she also signaled that Real Madrid is still her son’s primary target for a transfer.
At just 23 years old with his whole career ahead of him, this PSG mess isn’t looking well on him. On the one hand, it is not uncommon for players to vocalize that they want a move to a new team. Nor is it uncommon to make a statement like that just to have leverage for more money. But what is uncommon is to have someone’s mother deny any truth to a news story. These teams have to figure it out, and maybe Kylian Mbappe should have a conversation with his mom.
