Kyle Kennard 2025 NFL Draft Profile

May I interest you in a Kyle Kennard 2025 NFL Draft profile? You’re already here so why don’t you stick around and hear what I have to say?

NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 3Week 7Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, Senior Bowl (2), (3)

Kennard, 23, was a three star prospect out of the state of Georgia. The redshirt senior was another one of these transfer portal guys starting out at Georgia Tech for four years and then finishing his final campaign with the Gamecocks.

2024 was also by far his best year. The accolades here are pretty insane. Kennard won SEC Defensive Player of the Year, First-team All-SEC, and the Nagurski Trophy. That’s coming off the heels of 15.5 TFLs and 11.5 sacks. Even dating back to the previous year at Georgia Tech, Kennard was never the full-time starter, with his best season in 2023 notching a team high of six sacks.

During the Combine, I think we got major clarity on what this player is. Sure, a late bloomer, but how really good is he? The pure movement skills were low-key concerning. Kennard checks in at 6-foot-4, 254, and 34 inch arms. Ripped out 23 bench press reps and honestly looks like he profiles best as a 4-3 defensive end. I don’t see crazy power when you watch him though.

By the way, Kennard had some great games this past year. Not taking that away from him. I’ve said this plenty of times. He got the better of LSU and Will Campbell. No doubt about that. The only difference is if you watch his running mate, Dylan Stewart, you understand what twitched up is and what Kennard is. He’s clearly developed and has become a thing, but are we really talking about an insane talent here? Probably not.

Producing in the SEC is a great thing but I am worried that having Stewart be the wrecking ball didn’t have a bigger impact than people might think. 23 pressures isn’t a crazy number and he converted most of them into sacks.

Feel free to click on the Swinson embed above because I think Kyle Kennard is sort of in the same range here. One year wonders who caught fire late at an advanced age. Probably a round 3-5 developmental player who has a chance to be a nice pass rushing depth piece.
