The Knicks Didn’t Trade For Anthony Davis Because He Didn’t Fit Into Their Future

The Knicks are the greatest reality show in the NBA. The Knicks will continue to do Knicks things. They are the Redskins of the NBA. James Dolan is the laughing stock of the league. Steve Mills and the front office is holding press conferences for laughable reasons. This next iteration of the Knicks is too funny.

The Knicks claim that they didn’t pull the trigger on an Anthony Davis traded because he didn’t fit into their future plans. Okay, bud. Whatever helps you sleep at night:

VIA: ESPN – “Unlike other major stars recently, Davis had expressed interest in playing for the Knicks. But Mills and Perry told people they were turned off by the Pelicans’ high asking price of multiple first-round picks plus multiple young players, even though the Knicks had that type of package thanks to their Porzingis trade. They said it would have undercut their long-range plan of building through the draft and developing picks into stars.”

We’re getting Kyrie. We’re getting KD. We’re getting AD. That turned into Elfrid Payton, Marcus Morris, and Julius Randle. It would be one thing if the Knicks were actually going young. That isn’t the case. They blew their load in free agency and now they’re stuck with this group. The Knicks are just going to do Knick things. I don’t know how anybody could be a fan of this organization.

The funny part is they actually had the pieces to get this done. They collected a bunch of draft picks in the Kristaps Porzingis trade. Anthony Davis actually wanted to play for the Knicks too. I have no idea why, but he did. When they traded Porzingis, going in for Davis made too much sense. Probably the exact reason why the Knicks didn’t go for it.
