Is Justyn Ross A Scumbag?

If you’re like me and were rooting for the Justyn Ross comeback story, I have some unfortunate news to share. The former Clemson wide receiver has been arrested according to a report by ESPN. The NY Post eventually followed up with a story that Ross was dragging a woman through his home.

I absolutely hate writing stories like this. I never feel like typing news like this. I’m sure more details will come out about what happened but it certainly appears like some serious scumbag behaviour. Time will tell if Ross faces jail time. Regardless, the Chiefs may certainly opt to cut bait. It goes without saying that this isn’t exactly ideal news for the organization.

Ross, 23, has played sparingly this year with the Chiefs appearing in all seven games but only has three receptions for 34 yards. If you’re interested in reading the draft profile on Ross, I have that for you right here. As a freshman, Ross looked like a lock to go in the first round. Then he got hit with an odd medical thing that basically robbed him of that. Now we have this story.

Time will tell what happens from here. Although, it’s worth noting that if the Chiefs stood by Tyreek Hill’s nonsense, maybe they will do the same here. The on field takeaway should be that Kansas City needs to go buy another wide receiver regardless of what happens with Ross. The Chiefs did re-add Mecole Hardman, but I’m not sure that’s enough.
