For the first time in three decades, Wrestlemania is returning to the city of Las Vegas. WWE’s announcement on Saturday following their Backlash PLE has sent shockwaves through the wrestling world. Wrestlemania 41 is slated to emanate from the Allegiant Stadium on April 19-20.
While there were rumors that Minneapolis might be the host city. However, it became clear with Philadelphia playing as the most recent host. The chilly 40-degree Philly weather during night one made for a unique viewing and production experience to put it lightly.
It came as no shock that WWE wanted to look for a warmer host city. Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, boasts a capacity that can reach up to 71,000 people; if Philly is to be a reference, WWE can expect more than 140,000 fans across both nights.
April 19-20 also marks the latest date into the year Wrestlemania will take place.
WWE has been on an unstoppable trajectory in recent months, particularly on the television front, building upon the momentum of Wrestlemania 40. With the stage set in Las Vegas, there’s an undeniable sense of anticipation that Wrestlemania 41 will make a case for bigger and better. Though we’re still a ways off from Wrestlemania season, the hype train for Las Vegas has officially begun.
