Is Pat McAfee deep down a Charmin ultra-soft crybaby? It’s sure starting to appear that way. News just broke about how McAfee is contemplating retiring from ESPN’s College GameDay because of fan backlash. Somehow, this next story makes McAfee sound like even more of a joke.
The Washington Post published an article detailing McAfee’s tenure at ESPN. In the article, it was revealed that the former Colts punter was extremely upset that his former employer FanDuel used Rob Gronkowski in a Super Bowl ad instead of him.
No, I promise you are reading that correctly. McAfee really got upset because they used Gronk in the ad instead of him. I posted the ad that was eventually used in the article if you want to watch it. Trust me, it’s nothing earth-shattering to the point where McAfee should be this upset over missing out.
Talk about soft. Imagine getting offended because Gronk got picked for an ad. Imagine getting offended because a company that you left picked a more famous football player. There is no way around it. This is a terrible look for McAfee. He’s acting like a child who didn’t get a sixth bowl of ice cream.
I would love to hear from you in the comments because I can’t be the only one who finds this ridiculous. Do you think McAfee is justified to be upset or is he acting like a pathetic child? I don’t know how anyone can side with McAfee on this one.
