The Jaren Hall case study will be a litmus test for any NFL General manager heading into the 2023 NFL Draft. Are you dumb enough to waste a draft pick here? You can go elsewhere for your draft content, but Trey speaks the truth. The BYU quarterback stinks and there really isn’t a reason to sugarcoat it. Let’s go over the Jaren Hall 2023 NFL Draft profile and further discuss why you too should be out.
The pre-draft process has not been kind to the BYU product. I basically refused to talk about him at the Senior Bowl because he was that horrific. Hall was probably the worst quarterback on the field at the combine. Couldn’t hit a single throw to save his life.
The real problem is we probably have already seen what Hall is. He’s already 25. If Zach Wilson struggled to transition to the NFL out of the Mountain West as a 3-year starter, what’s going to happen to Hall who has one year of real production? Yes, Hall took a step forward in 2022 sporting a 31-6 TD to INT ratio. However, it’s his only real year of legit production. A 25-year-old beating up on Mountain West much younger competition. Something to keep in mind.
I just don’t know what there is to be excited about. Hall is undersized (6-foot, 207). He’s never going to be someone to rip throws in tight windows. The pure arm strength is below par. Hall can move around a bit but also carries extensive injury history when he’s done so in the past. The only positive here is that he played baseball in the past and might know how to slide. Yippe!
I have an undraftable grade on Jaren Hall with being unwilling to invite him to a preseason roster. Pretty straight forward here. Let this one be someone else’s problem.
