The 2024 NFL Draft Profile series continues on with Louisville wide receiver, Jamari Thrash. We’re going over everything related to Thrash. Let’s talk about it and not waste any more time.

Trash was clearly the top target with Louisville last year. Had a decent showing in the Conference Title Game against Florida State. I had positive things to say at the Senior Bowl too. Just thought he sort of tapped out at the Combine.

He can run routes and has decent speed. A 4.46 is more than acceptable. The problem I have with him is that he’s a bit out of control. Just don’t see a ton of elite traits that wow you. Has the look and feel of a middle tier wide receiver. You know, kinda like KJ Osborn. Can play but how good is he?

Just not physically dominant either. Can catch but can be disrupted by physical corners on plays that shouldn’t happen. No real strength element to his game. Checks in at 6-foot, 188 and former three star guy from the state of Georgia. Played a vast majority of his time at Georgia State. Not really an impact guy there until 2022. Went well over 1,000 yards that season. Then went to Louisville and became their number one. Finished last season with 63 receptions for 858 yards and six scores.

Can be an inside or outside receiver. Has the ability to stretch the field but doesn’t have an overly complex route tree. Has to get stronger. Don’t see a super high ceiling if the player does make it.

I think Jamari Thrash can play but I wouldn’t get carried away. There is just too much wide receiver talent entering the NFL ranks. I would be willing to take a flier on Trash in the later rounds. Just have to keep the expectations in line with reality. Depth receiver that can be part of the room bringing plus speed to the table.
