After reportedly planning a medical in Spain to sign with FC Barcelona, Dutch Midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum appears to have hit the breaks and instead move to Paris Saint-Germain. CBS Sports and Fabrizio Romano reported that a deal with Barca has been hijacked and the soon-to-be-ex Liverpool man will instead sign a 4-year contract with the Parisians. Rumblings of the French side outbidding the Catalans have truly come to fruition, as Wijnaldum was on the verge of completing a move to Spain. Instead of bolstering their midfield, Barca will turn their attention to adding more free-agent signings to the likes of Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia. It is likely Dutch Forward Memphis Depay will make a switch from Lyon to Barcelona after it was confirmed manager Ronald Koeman would remain in charge for the upcoming season.
