ESPN should change its slogan to the worldwide leader of idiots. No, this isn’t clickbait. This actually happened. ESPN has decided to fire/lay off NBA analyst, Zach Lowe.
Apparently, this is a continuation of the ESPN layoffs, with more expected to come. Lowe follows the recently departed Sam Ponder and Robert Griffin III as part of this layoff group.
Andrew Marchand of The Athletic was the first to report the news (don’t click the link, it’s from a trashbag network that continues not to turn a profit and spreads lies through a paywall. I’ll tell you all the information you need to know):
“ESPN has parted ways with NBA senior writer Zach Lowe as part of the network’s continuing layoffs, sources briefed on the decision told The Athletic on Thursday.“
“Lowe follows the earlier dismissals of NFL personalities, Robert Griffin III and Sam Ponder. The moves are part of the network’s fiscal year planning that ends at the conclusion of September. ESPN declined to comment, while Lowe couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.“
This is insane. Woj got out of there at the right time. How do you make this move? Lowe is one of the few guys who is actually smart and better yet, can actually formulate a sentence in his articles. How this is the name you decide to fire is wild.
Time will tell what Lowe does next. He will be successful in whatever he decides to do. He’s clearly someone who actually watches the games and his breakdowns are worth the read time. A return to Bill Simmons with The Ringer certainly can’t be counted out.
