Elijah Arroyo 2025 NFL Draft Profile

We’re here to talk about the real TE1 in the 2025 NFL Draft. If you missed the hot takes video, you can check that out here, but we’re going to go more in depth about the Miami tight end here in a hot minute. Without further ado, here is your profile on Elijah Arroyo!

NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 1Week 4Week 5Week 8Week 9Week 11Week 14Pop-Tarts Bowl, Senior Bowl (1), (2), (3), Game

Arroyo, 22, was a four star prospect coming out of high school. The Frisco, Texas, native was ranked as the 129th overall player, fourth ranked TE, and 22nd ranked player in the state as well. Checking in at 6-foot-5, 250, Arroyo spent all four years with the Canes.

The redshirt junior really popped in 2024. He dealt with nagging injuries the prior two years but really showed off who he is in 2024. It was a year that included 35 receptions for 590 yards and seven scores. We tracked him all year, so if you want to peruse the stock notes at the top, knock yourself out. I’m not so much of a numbers guy myself. The eye test is far more important, but a 16.9 yards per reception mark is ridiculously good for this position.

Sure, having Cam Ward helped, but so is the inverse of that statement. Arroyo was a reliable target for Ward all year, and the number one thing that stood out was the nuance in his game that he had. Xavier Restrepo is a limited athlete but had a feel for how to sit down in the right spot. Arroyo was the opposite. He turned seven yard games into home run games, and that doesn’t happen with tight ends. Ward just had the knack for having defenses play at his speed, and Arroyo was constantly on the same wave length. It takes real talent to fill that role. This play right here helps illustrate that.

The performance at the Senior Bowl solidified him as TE1 for me. I’ve truly never seen a tight end performance quite like it. The separation this dude was creating was simply absurd, and he kept winning in different ways. Mossing guys with his frame, shaking dudes out of their shoes, and can actually outrun mismatches. No Combine after getting nicked up at the Senior Bowl, but I don’t blame the guy for shutting it down.

We’re also talking about a versatile player. I think he blocks more than well enough and even got lined up wide as an outside receiver plenty of times. The only guy who resembles that chess piece ability in this class is Tyler Warren. Long story short; good luck finding a matchup that you feel good about covering this guy.

This is the bottom line. If the injury concerns weren’t here, he’s the unanimous TE1 by the industry. A smart team will use that as a blessing in disguise to have him fall later than he should. I’ve been snagging him in a ton of mock draft simulators. The injury stuff is surely a concern, but I also think we’re talking about a guy who hasn’t come close to hitting his ceiling. The dude has raw talent who should keep getting better.

It feels similar (two stylistically different players) to Ladd McConkey from last year. McConkey didn’t have earth shattering numbers mostly because he played his final college season on one leg. When McConkey was healthy, we saw those wow separation moments. I think the same thing is coming here.

I have a back-end of the first round grade on Elijah Arroyo, and is TE1 in the class for me. Nobody has a higher ceiling than Arroyo based on his natural athletic traits and frame. In terms of Miami tight ends, I think you’re getting something far closer to Jimmy Graham and even better than David Njoku. Somewhere in that tier.
