Draft Busters 2025 NFL Draft Quarterback Rankings

Is it way too early to be looking ahead to the 2025 NFL Draft, as the 2024 NFL Draft ended a few weeks ago? Maybe. However, that hasn’t stopped Trey from doing his rankings and that won’t stop the Draft Busters either. In this one, Chickster and I are going to be giving you our Quarterback rankings for next year’s draft. Next year’s class won’t be as highly regarded as the class from this season, but I think we have a few potential risers in our ranks.

*Disclaimer: Trey is crazy (in a good way) and did 25, the Draft Busters are going to bring you our top ten. I am going to drop Chickster’s list at the bottom*

No. 10: Brock Vandagriff (Kentucky)

Starting off our 2025 NFL Draft QB rankings with someone who I think could be one of those risers in this draft cycle Brock Vandagriff out of Kentucky. When you are going to be compared to Devin Leary, last season’s starter, you are going to be viewed as a huge improvement. However, Vandagriff has some talent to him. A former four-star recruit who was the fifth-ranked QB in his class. He has a plus arm, good mobility, and good pocket presence. Don’t be surprised if he finishes higher on lists as we draw closer to next year’s draft.

No. 9: Jalen Milroe (Alabama)

I’ll be honest, I might be out on Jalen Milroe as an NFL-caliber player. I just don’t totally see it. However, it is hard to argue with what he’s done so far at Alabama. He has grown a ton in terms of being a traditional Quarterback, as when he first joined the Crimson Tide his accuracy issues were terrifying. To his credit, on just 284 attempts last season he completed at a 65.8% clip. If he takes that next step with his arm mixed with his natural athleticism, I might be eating crow on this one as he could be one of the best QBs in the class.

No. 8: Dillon Gabriel (Oregon)

Dillon Gabriel was featured on Trey’s Stock Report series last season, and for good reason as this kid has gobs of potential waiting to be tapped into. Gabriel falls into the eight spot on my 2025 NFL Draft rankings as of right now, but has a real chance to fly up boards in this Oregon system which was very kind to Bo Nix last season. He might be on the smaller side, but he has been a producer in college (55 touchdown passes, 18 rushing) and we could see even bigger numbers this season.

No. 7: Cam Ward (Miami)

Trey is really high on Cam Ward, me not so much. Many thought Ward was going to be in the 2024 NFL Draft, but decided to transfer to Miami for this upcoming season instead. I just find it hard to put stock into anyone who is *willing* to go play for Mario Cristobal, as that is normally a recipe for disaster. However, Ward does have the tools to potentially overcome that. Live arm, isn’t the fastest QB in the class but has mobility to him. I’m not sure I could go any higher than seven.

No. 6: Connor Weigman (Texas A&M)

If I had to make a prediction here on May 9th, it would be that Texas A&M’s Connor Weigman will be the big riser in this class. Weigman was a former five-star recruit out of Cypress, Texas, and was the number three QB in the 2022 class. Good frame at 6’3, 215 lbs, and has a live arm of his own with plus running ability. He completed 69% of his passes last season, and with Mike Elko coming in we should see a much better offense out of the Aggies this season. The key for Weigman is going to be staying healthy, but if he does I think he could be the biggest riser heading toward the 2025 NFL Draft.

No. 5: Drew Allar (Penn State)

I mentioned before the 2023 season that Drew Allar could be the missing piece for the Penn State offense. While that might have been a miss, it’s apparent the kid still has loads of talent but was stuck in a terrible offense. The spring game didn’t leave fans with much to look forward to, but this should be a revamped offense with new OC Andy Kotelnicki. Allar is a five-star guy himself with a launcher of an arm, stellar frame (6’5, 240 lbs), and is mobile for a guy of his stature. If Allar wants to see his stock return to what it was entering last season, he will need to improve on the less-than-ideal 60% completion percentage, among other things.

No. 4: Garrett Nussmeier (LSU)

Are we sure that Garrett Nussmeier isn’t better than Jayden Daniels? I get that might be a hot take seeing that Daniels is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, however, Nussmeier clicks most of the boxes that Daniels did, but better. Yes, he is not the runner that Daniels is, but he is a much more polished, refined passer who has a missile launcher of an arm. What’s going to be key for Nuss this season is keeping the turnovers under control. If he does, we are looking at a first-round QB in the 2025 NFL Draft.

No. 3: Shedeur Sanders (Colorado)

Bold prediction time: I would not be shocked if we do not hear Shedeur Sanders’ name at the top of the draft next season. Is it crazy to say he may not go in the first round? Maybe. But if I am an NFL GM, I am scared to death of drafting this kid with some of the baggage he is going to bring. The talent is all there, we saw it last season. Trey called it way before anyone else did. But all I see is someone who is severely lacking maturity, has terrible pocket awareness, internal clock that is way too slow, and I would have to deal with Deion as well? All I’m saying is don’t be surprised. You heard it here first.

No. 2: Quinn Ewers (Texas)

I think that when the dust settles, Texas’ Quinn Ewers will likely be the QB1 in the 2025 NFL Draft, but as of May 9th, he falls as my QB2. Ewers was the number one overall recruit in his class, and we saw a ton of that last season. Ewers is an effortless thrower, does a very good job throwing on the run, and has accuracy at all three levels. At only 21 years old, there is still so much development to be had that I think he could be lined up to have an insane year in 2024. He may have gotten some slack for his Sugar Bowl performance, but he gets a pass from me. The upside is way too high.

No. 1: Carson Beck (Georgia)

I might get some pushback on this one, but I am not as in love with Carson Beck as some are. Do I think he could be a top-end QB in the NFL? Maybe. He certainly has the tools for it. Big frame, is mobile enough to get out of trouble, makes all the right decisions with the football. When you’re averaging almost ten yards per attempt and completing 72.4% of your passes, that puts you in elite status. Something just doesn’t itch my brain right. When I figure out what it is, I’ll let you know. But for now, Beck is my QB1 for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Chickster’s Rankings:

  • 1) Carson Beck (Georgia)
  • 2) Quinn Ewers (Texas)
  • 3) Shedeur Sanders (Colorado)
  • 4) Cam Ward (Miami)
  • 5) Dillon Gabriel (Oregon)
  • 6) DJ Uiagalelei (Florida State)
  • 7) Jaxon Dart (Ole Miss)
  • 8) Riley Leonard (Notre Dame)
  • 9) Connor Weigman (Texas A&M)
  • 10) Drew Allar (Penn State)
