Denzel Burke 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Let me just say this off the top. Denzel Burke can’t get any respect during this process. It’s not an overly deep cornerback class, and Burke can’t get any love. We’re going to go over everything you need to know about the Ohio State corner in this edition of the 2025 NFL Draft profile series!

Burke, 22, was a four star recruit during the 2021 cycle. The Scottsdale, Arizona, native was actually a receiver in high school, but was designated as the 10th ranked athlete and third overall player in the state. He spent all four years with the Buckeyes at Ohio State.

I’m a fan of Burke, if you can’t tell from the stock notes above. The first game against Oregon was brutal. Other than that, he was good in every other game I watched. The second game against Oregon, the guy was totally a wet blanket.

We also know this. He was the number one corner with the Buckeyes last year and was far better than Davison Igbinosun. That will be a conversation for next year, but if you watched the games, you know it’s largely because Igbinosun was a PI machine in a bad way.

Keep this in mind too. Burke has been starting for Ohio State for four straight years. Do we understand how hard that is? Burke made Freshman All-American back in 2021. His 2024 maybe wasn’t quite as good as 2023 when he made First-team All-Big Ten.

Burke passed the test at the Combine too. 4.48 speed works for me, and he checks in at 5-foot-11, 186, with over 31 inch arms. The on-field drill portion was also one of the better workouts for all of the players in the group.

This is the other thing about Burke. Over and over again, he just won in press coverage. This Ohio State defense was money all year, and Burke shutting down the opposing WR1 had a lot to do with it. Also does a really good job bending his knees staying compact while being powerful at the catch point.

I’m a huge fan of Denzel Burke. I think he’s a second round player who can become a high caliber starter at the next level. He’s been there much later in the mock draft simulators I’ve done. Don’t overthink this one. If you start as a freshman at Ohio State and hold onto that job for four straight years… how do you think this one is going to go?
