David Sills: Put Some Respect On His Name
I don’t have a real direction for the blog. I just am happy for David Sills. That man is on an NFL roster and getting significant playing time for an actual team. That man has done well for himself. I am so happy for David Sills because many people may not know his full story.
If you didn’t follow college football ten years ago, let me catch you up to speed. David Sills is the guy Lane Kiffin got a commitment from when he was 13. Sills was going to be a legend at USC and help guide the Trojans to many National titles under Lane Kiffin!
Sounds insane right now when you think about it, right? That’s coming from someone that thinks Kiffin is a really good collegiate coach.
Of course, Sills did nothing at USC because he played for West Virginia instead. Oh, and he’s a wide receiver now too. Sills last two years at West Virginia were pretty special. Just under 1,000 receiving yards as a junior and senior with a combined 33 touchdowns.
I do even have a section written about Sills in the stock report notes from a long time ago. To me, Sills was a nice story but he certainly wasn’t someone you were drafting. Well, guess what? Sills didn’t get drafted but he’s also still here.
Sills, 26, has five receptions for 57 yards through three weeks of the 2022 NFL Season. However, now with Sterling Shepard out, Sills is about to get more work. Start looking around. Kenny Golladay is a shell of his former self. Kadarius Toney and Wan’Dale Robinson are both gadget guys that nobody knows what to do with. Darius Slayton doesn’t get me excited in any way shape or form. I’m just saying. David Sills WR1 in New York wearing Odell Beckham’s number 13? That’s respect.
Good for David Sills. He’s made something for himself and is still in the league. Legend.
