Damian Lillard traded to Milwaukee Bucks in three-team blockbuster

In a wild turn of events, the Milwaukee Bucks have swooped in to snag Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard in a three-team trade involving the Phoenix Suns!

After an ongoing process, Lillard has been traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, a 2029 unprotected MIL 1st, and unprotected MIL swap rights in 2028 and 2030 to the Portland Trail Blazers. Phoenix landed Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little and Keon Johnson, Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the blockbuster Wednesday.

The NBA world has been frozen for the past few weeks, leading no one to believe where Damian Lillard would be traded.

After the Miami Heat went in and out on Lillard, the rumors started to become clearer. Lillard would not become a member of the Heat. The Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors both had an interest in Lillard, but it would be the Milwaukee Bucks that swooped in and obtained the superstar point guard.

In his time as a Trailblazer, Lillard did all he could for the organization. Eventually breaking the Blazers’ all-time scoring record, Lillard scored just under 20,000 points with the organization in just 11 years.

The Trail Blazers’ general manager, Joe Cronin, thanked Lillard for spending 11 years with the organization after granting his wish to be traded.

“On behalf of the entire Portland Trail Blazers Organization, I want to express my gratitude to Damian for 11 storied years with this franchise and for his loyalty to the Portland community,” said General Manager Joe Cronin. “From becoming the all-time leading points scorer in franchise history to his dedicated commitment to youth across Oregon and the entire Pacific Northwest, Damian is and will remain a titan and a true trailblazer to this city.”
