Brandin Cooks Believes CeeDee Lamb Should Be NFL’s Top Paid WR

Brandin Cooks believes that fellow teammate and WR1 on the Dallas Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb, should be the top-paid WR in the NFL. He goes on to say that CeeDee Lamb is the greatest WR in the league. Here is the full quote provided by The Score:

“The guy is a freak,” Cooks said Wednesday. “He deserves everything that is coming his way, and I hope he gets every single dollar that he can and (that he becomes) the highest-paid receiver in the league because he’s the greatest receiver in the league. No doubt.”

While I may not believe this fully myself, there is a case to made for CeeDee Lamb to be the NFL’s top paid WR. He did break Cowboys” single season records for receptions (135) and receiving yards (1,749) in 2023. CeeDee Lamb is convincingly the 2nd best WR from that draft in 2020. Losing out to what most consider the best WR in the NFL in Justin Jefferson. It was truly a mistake that the Raiders picked CeeDee Lamb as the first WR off the board in that class when he was considered to be the best in that class at that time.

This off-season, Amon-Ra St. Brown received a 4-year, $120 million deal to reset the WR market. Very shortly after, AJ Brown signed a 3-year, $96 million extension to top the Amon-Ra St. Brown deal. CeeDee Lamb is entering the final year of his contract where he is expected to make $17.99 million. It’s been reported that Lamb will not attend the Cowboys’ voluntary workouts without a new deal. Brandin Cooks is looking out for his teammate and trying to lobby for him to get a new deal and a big one at that.
