Bulls Reportedly Interested in Damian Lillard

On Tuesday, I talked about a Damian Lillard report and how tedious this entire process has been. Yet here I am, two days in a row talking about this very man. To be fair, I’m focusing on the news that doesn’t involve him going to the Miami Heat because we’re all sick of hearing that by now.

Yesterday, it was the Toronto Raptors, I already laid out why it wouldn’t make sense at all for them to do it. But it now appears to be the Chicago Bulls, who I also don’t think will end up with Lillard, but for not exactly the same reasons.

Zach LaVine‘s name has been thrown in trade rumors even though the Bulls claim that isn’t true. We all know that’s never really the case. But in the case of a Lillard trade, LaVine would have to be the centerpiece in order to make the money work.

This brings me to my next point of why I don’t think this will happen: I don’t think Lillard would want to team up with DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic in Chicago.

The Bulls likely are having to give up a good amount of depth as well in this trade, making it an even less desirable location for Lillard. I also don’t think it makes sense for the Bulls either, it doesn’t really make them worse but it also doesn’t make them that much better.

Damian Lillard may be great, but he isn’t immediately turning this Bulls team into legit contenders in the East, so I think these rumors are baseless rumors.

A trade like this wouldn’t really make sense for either side and I don’t think Lillard would willing to go to Chicago. So just like I said yesterday, It appears Damian Lillard won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

I just hope I don’t end up writing about this again until he officially gets moved. But at this point, I can’t say that’s very likely.
