Cormani McClain Flips From Miami to Colorado

Deion Sanders has done it again. Five-star cornerback Cormani McClain has flipped his commitment from Miami to Colorado. The news was first broke by Carl Reed of 247 Sports.

Rumors around McClain’s flip began circulating when he did not sign his letter of intent on national signing day. After a wild recruitment, McClain is heading to Colorado to play for Sanders.

McClain is the No. 12 player and No.1 cornerback in the 2023 recruiting class, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

Sanders has now landed the No. 1 cornerback in back-to-back classes. At Jackson State, Sanders landed Travis Hunter, who is now transferring to Colorado.

After landing McClain and Hunter, Colorado now how one of the highest-rated cornerback duo’s in the country.

As far as why Colorado was the landing spot of choice, McClain said exactly what you would expect. The best corner in the country wants to play for an all-time great corner, among other reasons.

McClain was also joined by Gillie Da Kid which helped add a level of uniqueness to his college announcement.

After landing McClain, Colorado has jumped to No. 19 in the 247 Sports Composite Team Rankings. McClain will be the class headliner, but four stars Dylan Edwards, Omarion Miller, and Adam Hopkins will help add depth to the class.

Since taking the head coach role at Colorado, Sanders has made an effort to add talent through the transfer portal. It was pretty evident that Colorado would land Shedeur Sanders, Deion’s son, and the aforementioned Hunter. They did not stop there though. In total, Colorado has landed 23 transfers and has the No. 3 transfer class in the 247 Composite Rankings.

Colorado landed McClain over Miami, Florida, Alabama, and others.
