Are the Colts really going to name Jeff Saturday the permanent head coach? It seems to be trending this way. Jim Irsay loves nothing more than meddling in things that he’s not educated about. Despite the fact that Irsay has not sat in on any interviews, the Colts owner is leaning towards keeping Saturday has the head man in charge.
Jordan Schultz of theScore was the first to report the news:
Demeco Ryans, Dan Quinn, and Raheem Morris are some of the other candidates that the Colts have been interested in. All three defensive coaches would certainly be an odd choice for a team that can’t move the football.
Is anything about this report surprising? The football people want to go in a different direction. The brain dead owner wants to keep Saturday. This Colts job is a suicide mission. I would never even take the phone call if Irsay wanted to talk. I would hang up immediately. Constantly meddling when he has no business meddling.
Saturday, 47, went 1-7 as the Colts’ interim coach. The lone win was against the Raiders. I think when we all witnessed that incredible Vikings comeback it signaled the end for Saturday on the sidelines. That apparently is not the case and looks more and more likely that Saturday will get the head coaching gig with the Colts after all.
Find you someone that will defend you the way Jim Irsay defends Jeff Saturday. That’s the lesson learned here. All I know is that the karma gods were looking out for Frank Reich this year.
