Cameron Jordan: ‘I expect to take Derek Carr’ back to Las Vegas for Super Bowl

After being signed by the New Orleans Saints this offseason, quarterback Derek Carr is bringing some high expectations to Louisiana. New teammate Cameron Jordan expects to take Carr back to his former city, Las Vegas for the Super Bowl this season.

“I expect a Super Bowl,” Jordan said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I expect to take Derek Carr, DC4, back to Vegas where he just left and have a return run at the Super Bowl.”

This season, the Super Bowl will be held in Las Vegas, the city where Carr spent most of his career.

He spent three seasons in Las Vegas and the other six in Oakland for the Raiders. Oakland and Las Vegas have been the home for Carr for his entire NFL career, where he quickly became the team’s star quarterback. Through nine seasons in the NFL, Carr has accumulated 217 passing touchdowns and over 35,222 passing yards. But now, he embarks on a new step in his career.

New Orleans has struggled with quarterback play for a few seasons now. Switching from Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton and even Taysom Hill has not been close to the answer. But Jordan is hoping Carr can make a quick turnaround for the Saints.

“Nobody has ever walked into a season (and) been like, ‘Ooh, I hope we win 10 games,'” Jordan said, per SiriusXM NFL Radio. “No, I’m trying to win each and every game that we play. My expectation is being 21-0, 22-0, whatever it takes to get to a Super Bowl. I want to beat each and every team we line across.”

As Jordan gets older, the best years of his career are behind him, and that means the window for a Super Bowl is slowly winding down. Can Carr and Jordan lead the Saints to a Super Bowl?
