Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan throws shade at division rival Buccaneers
Cameron Jordan recently came out and made comments on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers going back to their losing ways, according to theScore.
With Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady retiring, Jordan decided to take the time and take shots toward the Buccaneers. Jordan would also add his condolences to Brady in his retirement and respect.
“We salute him and wish him the best,” Jordan said when asked about Brady’s retirement by NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, via theScore.
Jordan would go onto laugh at the Buccaneers scenario with Brady not being under center next year.
“We’re glad that he’s out of the division,” Jordan said, via theScore. “Tampa Bay will probably go back to where Tampa Bay has been.”
When Brady joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he led them to three postseason appearances. Brady only played three years in Tampa Bay before retiring on Feb. 1. Even with spending only three seasons with Tampa Bay, Brady set himself in stone as the franchise quarterback. Now, with Brady out, Jordan and the New Orleans Saints look to make a playoff push next year.
Last year, the New Orleans Saints and Jordan just went 7-10 and finished third in the NFC South behind the Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers. The Saints haven’t made it to the playoffs since 2020 when they defeated the Chicago Bears 21-9. They would eventually lose to Tampa Bay 20-30 in the divisional round.
Ever since then, the Saints have been hoping to find a franchise quarterback that can lead their aging team back to the playoffs again. New Orleans has also been mediocre since their last playoff run as they’ve gone 9-8 and 7-10 in their most recent seasons.
