Week 7 in fantasy football saw a laundry list of players go down with injuries. Breece Hall tore his ACL. Mike Williams had his ankle roll backward. David Njoku will miss upwards of five weeks with a high-ankle sprain. There were some bright spots, though. If you bought low last week on Travis Etienne and George Kittle, you’re sitting pretty now. James Robinson was just traded to the Jets making Etienne the bell cow in Jacksonville. Hopefully, you make some trades based on this week’s buy low sell high list too.
Amari Cooper is flying under the radar on this Browns’ offense. Nick Chubb is a star and they run the ball well, which opens up the passing game for Amari. So much so that Cooper received 51 percent of the team’s air yards in Week 7, per PFF.
Weirdly enough Cooper has been eating significantly more when playing home games. Regardless of that inexplicable split, he’s been great, and I’d throw out offers as I don’t think he gets enough credit he deserves. His value goes up more with the injury to Njoku.
Not only is Dalton Schultz back and healthy but so is Dak Prescott — and Prescott peppers Schultz with targets. In Prescott’s two games this year, Schultz has averaged seven targets per game. That’s an incredible number considering the tight end wasteland plaguing fantasy football this year. Schultz played just 65 percent of snaps this past week, a number that will only increase going forward. Get him now as the Cowboys’ offense gets healthier as the season goes on.
This one should be obvious so I’m keeping this one short and sweet. Williams just went down with an ugly high-ankle sprain. Even when he does return, he won’t be 100 percent for the rest of the season. Justin Herbert will be throwing to someone on a disappointing, but still solid, Chargers offense. The hamstring concern for Keenan Allen is obvious, but he’s going into the bye week and will come out significantly healthier. He is a freebie for the buy low, sell high list.
Matt Ryan is benched, and Sam Ehlinger is here. Some people may be excited that this will lead to more production for the Colts’ playmakers. I am not one of those people. Ehlinger lived to run the ball in college. He was an RPO machine at Texas. I think that will follow to Indianapolis and the Colts will focus more on the run game — thus fewer looks for Michael Pittman Jr. I could also include Parris Campbell here as a sell high option, so consider selling him as well.
Take this one with a grain of salt. I am very hesitant to put D.J. Moore here as a sell high. There is a lot going for him. He had an elite target share with P.J. Walker at the helm, receiving 50 percent of the targets. Also, Steve Wilks said Walker will start going forward, too.
Even so, what if Moore gets traded? The Packers would be a great destination for him. However, this is an awful Panthers team that has very few playmakers. Carolina is a run-heavy team with a poor offense. Against the Buccaneers, they ran the ball 56 percent of the time, according to PFF. If you can get solid value for Moore, go for it. But if people aren’t paying up, hang onto him.
Trading this year in fantasy football 2022 can make or break your season. Suppose you can take advantage of when to buy low or sell high on a player. In that case, you’ll be giving yourself a significantly better advantage as the season progresses, ideally to a fantasy football championship.
