Accountability, culture, and discipline. Those three words have never been used to describe Jameis Winston. In fact, you would probably think the exact opposite of those words when you think about Jameis Winston. It hasn’t been all Winton’s fault. Dirk Koetter deserves a ton of the blame for being a terrible coach and leader for the Bucs franchise quarterback. The good news is the Bucs have turned the page on the Koetter era and one man can bring them back to a level of competency.

Bruce Arians is expected to be named as the next head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This hire should be considered a home run by the Bucs and will give Winston a real opportunity that he hasn’t had thus far. Arians has been a respected coach for a long time.

Arians has a career coaching record of 49-30-1 with the Arizona Cardinals. That doesn’t include another 9-3 record he should have as an interim coach for Chuck Pagano with Indianapolis. Have you seen what they look like without Arians? Arizona has the first pick in the draft this year. The Cardinals even made an NFC Championship appearance with a washed up Carson Palmer. You can clearly see that Arizona has next to no talent and Arians was winning year after year.

Jameis Winston is a clear upgrade over Carson Palmer. Winston is a volatile quarterback but there’s no questioning his talent. Here’s what else you should consider. Le’Veon Bell is coming. Winston has never had a running game to take the pressure off. Bell is coming. He will be Arians version of David Johnson in Arizona. Bell will give Tampa a true number one back who can also make plays out of the passing game. As long as Bell comes into camp in shape, he is one of the three best backs in the sport and Arians will know how to use him.

The Bucs are going to have a complete coaching staff on both sides of the ball. Todd Bowles is going to come over as Arians’ defensive coordinator. That’s about as good of a hire as you can get. Since Bowles left Arizona for the Jets, the Cardinals defense has fallen off a cliff. They went from scary to turnstile. Bowles is a massive upgrade over that clown Mike Smith no matter how you slice it.

At the end of the day, the Bucs hired a great offensive coach who won’t put up with bullshit and that’s exactly what the Bucs need.
