We’re working our way up the ladder here with the 2025 NFL Draft profile series. It’s time to have a chat about Missouri quarterback Brady Cook. Is there a real NFL future here? Let’s dive into it.
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 6, Week 9, Music City Bowl, East-West (1), (2), (3), (4), Game
Just so this is discussed now. With the guys who actually got invited to the Combine, I’m going to list all of the actual games I watched on the player. Unlike the other NFL Draft “analysts” who claim they watch tape but really don’t and just make up nonsense, Trey has nothing to hide. All the notes you want to see can be seen above. The East-West game, by the way, wasn’t pretty despite all the time to recover from the bumps and bruises of the season.
I think we have to start here with Cook. It was painfully obvious that he was battling injuries this year. Cook, 23, played in 12 games but exited several early with injuries. 11 touchdowns in 12 games is putrid. The year before he had 21 touchdowns and six picks. The year before that he was 14-7 TD to INT ratio.
His best moments back in 2023. It included a Bowl game win over Ohio State. Just looked way more healthy than he was this past year. The Combine performance itself was fine but fine is what he is. Actually can kinda run but there’s no real arm juice or high upside here. He’s the epitome of the term “JAG – Just A Guy”.
Everything about him reeks of average and average usually doesn’t get anywhere beyond maybe a backup at the next level. 6-foot-2, can kinda move around but for being an older guy, he never took over games or elevated his play. I can start making up positive traits if you want me to be nicer about it. Can kinda make the off-platform throws and was a team captain! Beyond that, there’s nothing to see here.
Hard pass on this one. Not worth a draft pick. I’m sure you will see him in the preseason with somebody but there is no reason to use a draft pick here.
