Bo Burnham To Play As Larry Bird In Showtime Lakers Series

If you don’t know who Bo Burnham is, please look him up. The guy is out there but he is a different kind of comedian. His craft isn’t “What’s the deal with airplane food?” kinda comedy. His is more of a quick-witted, dark sense of humor, and you never know what is going to happen during his show. His comedy shows aren’t just shows, they’re performances. It’s comedy like you’ve never seen. Did that sound desperate? Anyway, I love his stuff. Apparently, he is good enough to play Larry Bird. At first glance, Bo Burnham may look like Larry Legend a little, but I don’t see the casting relevance.

This could be a subtle shot at the Celtics in a way. I’m sure the Showtime Lakers had some say on who was going to be casted. Picking a comedian to play your rival and the best player on that rival in Larry Bird might be a sneak diss at them. Larry Bird is a top 10 player in the league no doubt and he is going to be portrayed by a comedian? That’s hilarious. I could be looking too far into that. Bo Burnham is a really tall guy, like 6’5, and like I said, I guess he kinda looks like him.

Still, this is a good thing for Bo Burnham, he is getting more involved in movies and acting opportunities. He made the movie Eight Grade back in 2018. I am excited for this series, I love all basketball series. Watching the “The Last Dance” Documentary was awesome. I can’t wait to watch this one about the Showtime Lakers.
