2021 NFL Draft War Room: Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are one of the most talented rosters in the NFL. This is a team that has drafted very well in recent years. If Cleveland were to nail the 2021 NFL Draft, they might just be run away favorites in the AFC North. Let’s head inside the war room to check out what could be up their sleeve.
First round: No. 26 overall
Second round: No. 59
Third round: No. 89
Third round: No. 91
Fourth round: No. 110
Fourth round: No. 132
Fifth round: No. 159
Sixth round: No. 211
Seventh round: No. 257
The Browns are loaded with extra draft capital on what is already a deep roster. Could the Browns go edge rusher in the first round? Takk McKinley is an addition but I’m not sure he matters. Cleveland is looking at Jadeveon Clowney which would be something. However, right now that’s their biggest hole.
Kwity Paye at Michigan could be an option if available at 26. Paye checks in at 6-foot-4, 274, and would likely plug in as a starter opposite of Myles Garrett. If Cleveland lands a player like Paye at 26, they might start partying the AFC North crown the next day.
I still think linebacker has to be an area of focus at some point. Anthony Walker was brought in as a free agent. Cleveland also has Mack Wilson, Sione Takitaki, and Jacob Phillips on the roster. I’m not sure any of those names inspires a world of confidence.
Nick Bolton of Missouri would be a dream scenario in round two. The Mizzou linebacker is a heat seeking piss missile that gets to the ball carrier quickly. Bolton would give Cleveland another athletic linebacker that could change the fortunes of this defense.
I’m sure the Browns also want some more cornerback insurance at some point. Rodarius Williams, Ifeatu Melifonwu, and Shaun Wade are all names in that third round range that Cleveland might target.
