I’ll be the first to admit; I don’t know a ton about this Brett Kollmann guy. Maybe he’s not a total idiot but just had a few too many on a day drinking bender. For whatever reason, it seems like a lot of people follow him so maybe he has a few good takes. I have no idea, I’ve never heard of him. All I know is I say this and it needs to be addressed.
No. Absolutely not. Please stop.
There is just so much bad information out there on the internet.
Please do not listen to people like this. They are very dangerous people.
Anybody and I mean anybody who thinks Tyler Warren is in the same class as Brock Bowers is on drugs. Or they have an IQ of 35. Either way, do not take these people seriously.
Let’s take a step back and really dive into this. Before the 2024 NFL Draft, I viewed Bowers as a generational can’t-miss type of prospect. In fact, I said he was the best tight end I’ve ever scouted since I’ve been doing this. Here is the draft profile I wrote on him if you don’t believe me.
The former Georgia product put together the single greatest rookie season ever by a tight end. Actually, he also broke the single season reception record for all rookies, including wide receivers. Oh, and he did it on a god awful Raiders team with no quarterback. He finished the 2024-25 NFL Season with 112 receptions for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns. Good enough to break records.
Bowers is the best tight end in the NFL right now as a rookie and it’s not close. Imagine what he would have done with a real quarterback throwing him the ball. He’s generational good and bound for the Hall of Fame. Hopefully, people understand that now. Again, nothing new from what I tried to tell you BEFORE the draft. My tight end rankings from last year reflect that as well.
Forget about Tyler Warren for a second. Do we understand how impossible it is to ask ANYONE to replicate what Bowers just did? Generational wide receiver prospects are going to have a tough time repeating what Bowers just did. It’s borderline laughable to expect another tight end to come into the league and do this.
I probably wouldn’t have even written this post if it was just some noob who put this out there on the internet. Until proven otherwise, Kollman is a noob. Somehow, a draft analyst over at ESPN actually entertained this conversation.
The group of Blue chip players for me last year included Caleb Williams, Marvin Harrison, and Brock Bowers. That was essentially the end of the list. Bowers was a top five player in last year’s class no question about it. Do not sit here and tell me Warren is a top five player in the upcoming class. Do not sit here and tell me the “talent level” of the class that includes Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, Mason Graham, Will Johnson, Mykel Williams, Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Kelvin Banks, and Tetairoa McMillan; that somehow Warren will “have a higher overall ranking”. You’re a complete dope if you believe that.
Again, this isn’t anything against Warren. He had a very good year and I mentioned him in the stock report notes several times this season. Certainly improved his stock and is a real player. However, I think this question right here hits the nail on the head.
I want you to read this part carefully because it totally disputes any idiotic claim these two knuckleheads want to tell you. I told you Bowers was a first rounder YEARS ago. I said it since the day he stepped on campus as a freshman. Here is the proof.
Bowers dominated as a freshman in the SEC. Tyler Warren couldn’t beat out Theo Johnson and never started for Penn State until his senior year. He never cracked 500 yards prior to his senior year. It’s why nobody in the draft community talked about him prior to this year. If anyone is telling you the same guy who couldn’t beat out Theo Johnson is in the same class as the greatest prospect the position has ever seen, that person has no clue what they’re talking about.
Look, I stopped respecting Matt Miller as soon as he kept on complaining online about how he was a divorced man living in the Midwest getting horny off Mitch Trubisky. You shouldn’t take him seriously either. He thought Trubisky AND Deshone Kizer were better than Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes. I still remember that to this day because it was the last time I bothered to care what he thinks about the draft. Here is the proof.
You the viewer should constantly be evaluating the evaluator. Humble brag but I am the best and most talented person and this industry. This is what I said about Trubisky before the draft.
I don’t know what it is about the media disrespecting Bowers but it needs to stop. Again, no disrespect to the Penn State tight end but if you think he’s in the same class as Bowers, you either smoke crack or are mentally slow. Either way, it describes these two knuckleheads well.
Oh, and Matthew Berry. By the way, the Matthew Berry challenge video will be released shortly and as you can see… we kicked his ass AGAIN.
