Adonis Arms is a Redshirt Senior Guard out of Winthrop University.

He started his collegiate career at Mesa Community College in 2016-17. Where he was named to the second-team all-conference and the third-team all-region. After two years at Mesa CC, Arms transferred to Northwest Nazarene. Where he was named the 2019 GNAC Newcomer of the year, as well as the 2019 GNAC Player of the Year. In his one year at NNU, he averaged 20.6 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 3.3 APG, while shooting 55 percent from the field. He also averaged 1.9 steals per game.

This season with Winthrop he has averaged 10.5 PPG with 4.8 RPG, and 1.8 APG, and 0.9 SPG. For the entire season Arms, came off the bench playing 22 games in the regular season. But ended up being the #2 Scorer for a Winthrop Eagles team that had the 12th seed in the South regional of the NCAA Tournament. In 17 minutes against Villanova, Adonis scored 10 points and brought down 3 boards.

This season Adonis Arms was the 19th most used player in NCAA D1. His usage rating is 32.5. In 2019, he attended the Process basketball camp. While there he was able to further his skills and become more complete as a player.

He recently announced on Instagram that he would be transferring and using his extra year, rather than going pro.

STRENGTHS:

1- Improved Three-point shooting- Two seasons ago, I had the chance to watch Adonis Arms at Northwest Nazarene. While he was there, he shot 35% from behind the arc. Now, at Winthrop, he has improved his shooting to 35% at the Division 1 level.

2- Defense- At 6-6, 205, Adonis Arms has quite a bit of athleticism. Which helps him on defense. According to College Basketball Reference, Arms registered an 89.1 Defensive Rating. As well as 1 defensive win share, and a 1.5 Defensive Box Plus/Minus.

3- Passing- At his size, this is a plus. Arms is able to pass the ball with ease.

WEAKNESSES

1- Streaky Shooter- Adonis Arms has shown on many occasions especially this season that he can be a streaky shooter. If his shot is on point… Great. If not you won’t get much from him.

2- Rebounding- at 6-6 Adonis Arms should be a better rebounder than what he is. In order for him to make it at the next level, he will need to be more physical inside, and fight for rebounds.
