It’s a new era in Indianapolis as Carson Wentz is set to start next year. The 2021 NFL Draft represents the Colts’ chance to build the final pieces around the Wentz wagon. Will Chris Ballard ensure an AFC South crown with a strong draft? Let’s head inside the war room!

  • Round 1: No. 21 overall
  • Round 2: No. 54 overall
  • Round 4: No. 127 overall
  • Round 5: No. 165 overall
  • Round 6: No. 204 overall
  • Round 7: No. 247 overall

The Colts essentially have all of their picks minus the third rounder they sent in the Wentz trade. Otherwise it’s straightforward for Indy.

You have to wonder if the Colts try to get some pass rushing help. Justin Houston hasn’t been retained yet. Tyquan Lewis and Isaac Rochell would be the starters today. If Gregory Rousseau is on the board, you have to think the Colts might think about it. Rousseau opted out this season but already has a big pedigree. He likely would have been a top 15 pick if eligible last year. If he falls a few spots to the Colts, so be it.

In round two, the Colts should get one more weapon for Carson Wentz. Michael Pittman is a start. TY Hilton is on his last legs. Do we know what Parris Campbell is yet? Rondale Moore sounds awfully enticing if on the board at this point. He’s a bowling ball of hell coming at you and one of my favorite prospects in this draft.

Other areas of need probably include corner, safety, and linebacker. It’s a good defense but there are clear holes that could use upgrades.
