ESPN On The Verge Of Hiring Bob Myers

Bob Myers stepped down from his position with the Warriors. Now we know what Myers will be doing this Fall when the NBA returns. ESPN is on the verge of hiring former Warriors executive Bob Myers to an analyst deal.

The New York Post was the first to report the news:

“ESPN is close to adding a four-time NBA champion to its talent roster.”

“The Post has learned that Bob Myers is nearing a deal to join “NBA Countdown” as an analyst.”

The resume speaks for itself here. Myers was in charge of Golden State for their titles in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022. Prior to joining the Warriors, Myers was a player agent in the NBA. It’s certainly an interesting name to add to their NBA coverage. One that should garner attention.

The move to ESPN also shouldn’t be super surprising. He hosted a podcast last season that was produced by Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and distributed on ESPN’s multimedia platforms. ESPN had the inside track.

There is obviously a lot of changes heading into the 2023-24 NBA Season from an NBA perspective. Mark Jackson has been fired. Jeff Van Gundy was fired during the June 30th ESPN Layoffs. Doris Burke will receive a promotion. Doc Rivers has also been hired as the other member of the new trio. It remains to be seen how involved Myers will be but his addition to the team should hopefully spice up the broadcast.
