The fantasy football waiver wire has a few interesting names heading into Week 14. It is not the best week of available targets, but there are a few potential difference-makers on the board.
The following players have already been discussed in previous weeks and remain viable options.
Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears has been one of the best running back handcuffs throughout 2023. That is largely because he was an impressive prospect entering the NFL. In Week 14, Spears is in a position for an increase in touches because starting running back Derrick Henry is in concussion protocol.
If Henry is out, Spears has the talent to be a productive fantasy asset. That was already made evident as Spears tallied 88 yards in Henry’s Week 13 absence.
Spears is likely on a roster if you are in a competitive league. Still, he is owned in less than half of leagues. If Spears is available in your league, he is worth a roster spot.
The New England Patriots are an offensive mess, but running back Ezekiel Elliot could be worth a waiver wire addition. The Patriots starting running back, Rhamondre Stevenson, is dealing with an ankle injury. That should result in a massive increase in touches for Elliott.
In Week 13, Elliott recorded 17 carries for 52 yards and four receptions for 40 yards. In the future, that is a fair expectation for Elliott. If he begins to add touchdowns he could put up solid point totals.
Elliott should not be a priority; however, if you are facing serious running back issues, Elliott is a solid waiver wire addition.
The Washington Commanders have been an interesting team to deal with from a fantasy perspective. Out of all the madness wide receiver Curtis Samuel has produced.
Samuel has had several impressive outings throughout 2023. It is not a weekly occurrence, but he has been productive. If you need flex help, Samuel can be used as a high-upside swing.
It should be noted that Samuel has a bye week upcoming. Keep that in mind if you are adding him. Still, Samuel can help you in the weeks following.
The final fantasy football waiver wire target for Week 14 is Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
In the last two games, Stafford has played some of his best football. That can be seen in his 508 passing yards and seven touchdowns. Plus, he has only thrown one interception.
Stafford is still capable of playing solid football in 2023. The question will always be health. At the moment, he looks healthy. That makes him a solid quarterback option in two-quarterback leagues. If you play in a one-quarterback league, he is a solid streaming option.
