2021 NFL Draft: Best Undrafted Fantasy Sleepers

Yes, the 2021 NFL Draft is long gone but fantasy football time is here. There are always undrafted gems that make headway in the league. Now that we know the landing spots for these guys, we know which one’s to keep an eye out for in fantasy. Maybe even names that you end up holding onto long term in dynasty leagues. Who are the best undrafted sleepers from the 2021 NFL Draft to keep an eye on?

QB: Jamie Newman (Philadelphia Eagles)

Undrafted quarterbacks rarely have success at the NFL level, but if we’re going to pick one here it has to be Jamie Newman. Jalen Hurts stinks and there’s easily a chance he gets himself benched. Could Newman win the back up role over Joe Flacco? I wouldn’t say it’s impossible. Plus, Newman adds a rushing element that helps when it comes to fantasy.

Personally, I think Newman stinks but there are really no other options.

RB: Jaret Patterson (Washington No Namers)

I love Jaret Paterson. I think the dude is a baller. I’m not sure how the best overall player in the MAC didn’t get picked. Regardless, talk about a landing spot. Antonio Gibson is really the only guy on the roster here. Plus, they line Gibson up as a receiver half the time anyway. There’s a lot of carries up for grabs here. Patterson could easily carve out a niche.

RB: CJ Marable (Chicago Bears)

I also wrote a draft profile on CJ Marable. Look, David Montgomery is the starter but where’s the depth? Tarik Cohen is a gadget guy. Do we still believe in Damien Williams after he opted out? Khalil Herbert was a 6th round pick. I think Marable can make this roster as the fourth guy and work his way up from there.

RB: BJ Emmons (Seattle Seahawks)

Lots of bodies here but also a lot of question marks. Chris Carson is frequently hurt. Ditto for Rashaad Penny. DeeJay Dallas failed to impress as a rookie. Travis Homer is just a guy. I wouldn’t rule out BJ Emmons making some noise here. Emmons was a big time recruit at Alabama but ended up finishing at Florida Atlantic. Just something to monitor.

WR: Whop Philyor (Minnesota Vikings)

We have been waiting for someone to take the third receiver spot in Minnesota for a while. Could Whop Philyor become that guy? Philyor was an interesting prospect coming out of Minnesota. Plus he’s named after the Whopper. Yes, that Whopper. Potential?

WR: Trevon Grimes (Philadelphia Eagles)

Philadelphia has needs at wide receiver. DeVonta Smith isn’t fixing all of them. Jalen Reagor can improve and still isn’t the solution. Trevon Grimes has a chance to step in and make some noise. Greg Ward and Travis Fulgham are still options but don’t rule out Grimes. The Florida product has some tools to make this roster. The local reporters are already gassing up Grimes.

TE: Nick Eubanks (Dallas Cowboys)

Blake Jarwin was almost a thing. Then he tore his ACL missing the rest of the season. Nick Eubanks was an interesting pick up. He has some athletic tools that maybe he develops into something. If Jarwin fails to recapture his magic, keep an eye on Eubanks down the road.
