So this is the guy you’re going to take over Tua? K. You go do that. More 2020 NFL Draft notes for Week 13 inside the post. (Mark J. Rebilas/USA TODAY Sports)

Week 13 of the college football season is in the books so we have another 2020 NFL Draft update. I can’t believe the season is winding down so fast. Conference championship games and the playoff is right around the corner. Let’s get right into it. This week we have Penn State At Ohio State, Texas At Baylor, and Oregon At Arizona State. Here we go. Who stood out for better or worse in regards to the 2020 NFL Draft?

Penn State At Ohio State

Chase Young continues to show that he is the best player in college football. He’s the Barry Bonds version of the sport. You’re better off walking him. What I mean by that is when he doesn’t get double teamed, it’s essentially an automatic sack. I mean every single time. It was just another day at the office. 9 tackles, 4 for loss, and 3 sacks. Clock work. I’ll show one of the sacks. The guy is just a monster and a future NFL gold jacket guy. The only can’t miss defensive player in the draft

I think JK Dobbins deserves more love. He’s such a dependable back that should be a 3 down guy in the NFL. 36 carries for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns of pure trucking. He did put the ball on the ground once but he’s not a notorious fumbler. I think we are underselling just how good Dobbins is. In this game, Dobbins became the 3rd all-time leading rusher at Ohio State passing Eddie George. The true Junior now sits behind just Ezekiel Elliott and Archie Griffin. It’s time to start putting JK Dobbins in the elite class of running backs.

I’ve seen Ohio State a lot this year. They’re loaded. I think Penn State has some dudes too. They were at least able to put up a fight and no one else has. KJ Hamler and Pat Freirmuth continue to prove they’re NFL guys. Hamler is a much better route runner than he gets credit for. He’s going to make it. Freirmuth stood out to me because Penn State really counted on him. Time after time, 3rd down after 3rd down, they looked for the big time end. A lot of times he came through. Freirmuth is a well rounded tight end that can really do it all. I’m becoming increasingly impressed.

Yetur Gross-Matos is a player that kinda flashed when I saw him a couple times. Nothing really jarring. I think he established himself in this one. 9 tackles, 3.5 for loss, and 2 sacks. Gross-Matos just looks so looooong and really disrupts plays. I’m not sure just how good he is yet but I think there’s something here.

One last guy, real quick I want to talk about Lamont Wade. He’s a short little safety that just kinda finds the ball. Plays in the box and defends in coverage. Might be a poor man Budda Baker that is worth taking a flier on.

Texas At Baylor

I don’t think there’s a ton of great players here. Just being honest. One team doesn’t have much talent but is thriving with great culture and coaching. That’s Baylor. The other team just is so underwhelming and has no true horses. Here’s one thing I want to talk about. I told you Sam Ehlinger was dog shit. I tried to tell you this is not an NFL quarterback. He’s a glorified full back playing QB. 22/37 for 200 yards and a pick. Get out of here. Ehlinger is not a draftable player unless you think he can be a tight end or something.

Two receivers shined in this game. One for each team. Where would Texas be without Devin Duvernay? The Texas slot receiver is a really great safety blanket that gets open in the middle of the field. It was another strong showing for Duvernay reeling in 10 receptions for 78 yards. I think there’s a chance he can be a quality slot receiver in the pros. He’s so compact and shifty that he should translate.

Denzel Mims ripped off another big game. 7 catches for 125 yards and a score in this one for the Bears. Baylor always has these height weight speed demons. 6-foot-4 wide outs that have burst. It’s a loaded receiver class so it’s so hard to say where he stands among the class. All I know is Baylor has a track record of these guys.

Oregon At Arizona State

This was Justin Herbert’s moment. Primetime game with most of America watching as Oregon was on the bubble of the College Football Playoff. It was supposed to be a fairly easy game. Herm Edwards and unranked Arizona State. True Freshman Jayden Daniels dueling against Justin Herbert. How hard could it be? This game told you everything you needed to know about Justin Herbert who continues to prove that he is nothing but wildly underwhelming.

Let me start with this. If you watched Justin Herbert at all this year, then it was impossible to be overly impressed. Bo Nix outgunned him in Week 1. Yeah, trash ass Bo Nix. Then Oregon snuck by Washington but Jacob Eason really outplayed him with inferior talent. Now let’s actually get to that game.

Herbert put together a stat line of 20/36 for 304 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. The box score doesn’t do it justice just how bad Herbert was. It was a performance you can’t unsee. Wildly inaccurate and a total mess. Even towards the end of the game, Oregon was calling 3rd and 10 bubble screens. Both of them worked. That’s not going to fly in the NFL. I said it before, I’ll say it again. You’re lucky if you get Josh Allen. I liked Josh Allen a lot more than this. The tools are great, but Herbert is a mess with accuracy. Probably more of a mess than even Allen is. You go ahead and take this over Tua. Only a psycho would.
