Tony Dungy Stinks On TV

Some people just do not belong on TV. I’ll take it a step further. Some people are just awful on TV. Enter Tony Dungy who you cannot say a positive thing about as an analyst on TV. Seems like a nice guy but totally sucks on TV. Last night I was watching the NBC pregame show before Sunday Night Football. The 4:00 games ended early so I put on NBC before I normally do. It’s unbelievable how bad Tony Dungy is.

This is the moment that gave me no choice but to blog it. Dungy and Rodney Harrison talked about the comments from Jerry Jones after the Cowboys lost to the Patriots. Jones was critical of his coaching staff. This was Dungy’s take on it:

What? Huh? Really? This has to be a joke right. The Cowboys have a “talent issue”. I didn’t hear that right. Nobody on the planet that watches football can’t possibly be this stupid. The Cowboys are LOADED. They have way better players than New England. Zeke Elliott, Amari Cooper, and a monster offensive line to start. Sean Lee is the Cowboys 3rd best linebacker. He’s the best one in New England. I’ll take DeMarcus Lawrence over Chase Winovich. Dungy must be watching a different game. The Cowboys have boat loads of talent.

Let’s be honest about Tony Dungy. He’s a shitty head coach. No wonder why he could never beat the Patriots. He thought they actually have better players. Dungy coached the Bucs and got fired. The following year they won the Super Bowl. Tough look. Then he went to the Colts with Peyton Manning. For years his defense was shit while Manning carried the show. Yes, he won a Super Bowl. Jim Caldwell also went to the Super Bowl with Peyton. The defense was never the vitale part. In fact, his defense often sucked and prevented Peyton from winning. Dungy is not a good head coach and should never be thought of as one.

I thought this Tweet summed it up perfectly.

The answer is no. Never. Not even if there was a fire. Dungy provides nothing on TV. There is never a point to what he’s trying to say. It’s a lot of “let me say the least intelligent thing possible so I don’t have to talk anymore”. Hey, maybe Dungy is a nice guy. He’s awful on TV. Anybody that thinks talent is the issue in Dallas needs to be ex-communicated to a deserted island.
