Xavier Worthy was a top performer at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. No, Worthy didn’t participate in any of the drills but his record-setting 4.21 during the 40-yard dash speaks for itself. After the dust has settled from the Combine, it’s pretty clear that more teams are going to be interested in taking the speedy wide receiver from Texas.
Worthy, 20, apparently has a landing spot in mind. The California native hopes the Chiefs take him at the end of the first round with the 32nd overall pick.
VIA USA Today:
“In a perfect world, I definitely would want to go to the Chiefs,” Worthy said. “Just the way Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs improvise and use you. They had Tyreek Hill. The way they used him, I feel like that would be a perfect fit for me.”
Talk about great self-awareness. This is it right here. Worthy makes so much sense in Kansas City. Probably more sense than any other team.
A: Campaigning to land with Patrick Mahomes is probably a smart move for any wide receiver.
B: Worthy has a lot of shades of DeSean Jackson. A thin player with top end speed. Andy Reid coached Jackson in Philadelphia. I’m quite sure he will figure out how to use him.
C: That Tyreek Hill element is exactly what the Chiefs are missing. Rashee Rice had a really good rookie season. Now you just need someone to stretch the field while Travis Kelce does Kelce things.
The fit is so obvious. Time will tell if this actually happens.
