WWE Money In The Bank 2022: Match Card Overview & staff Predictions

WWE Money In The Bank is the last premium live event before SummerSlam, so there is a lot at stake. There are four championship matches currently set for the show as well, along with the two Money In The Bank matches. This has all the potential to be a great show, so let’s go over each match on the card. I asked members of the staff, Garrett Burroughs, Max Everett, and Jiarmani DePena, to give their predictions as well.

*United States Championship Match*

Bobby Lashley versus Theory (c)

Theory and Bobby Lashley have been feuding with each other for the past couple weeks. Theory has been messing with Lashley, constantly toying with him. They had a pose-off against each other, where Lashley won the competition. Theory sprayed baby oil in his face. This only angered Lashley, making him want to beat Theory even more. Lashley would get his revenge on Theory. Theory held another pose-off by himself, because he felt like he should have won. Lashley surprised him and showed up and spray baby oil in Theory’s face. Theory is Mr. McMahon’s protégé, which only helps his confidence. The two are set to collide at WWE Money In The Bank.

I think this match could be really good, if it is done right. I’m hoping Theory gets to showcase his wrestling skills in the match. He has been very gimmick heavy and more entertainment based, rather than showing his wrestling abilities. Theory is a future champion and a win against Bobby Lashley will do wonders for his young career.

Predictions

Mark: Theory (c)

Garrett: Bobby Lashley

Max: Bobby Lashley

Jiarmani: Theory (c)

*Undisputed Tag-Team Championship Match*

The Street Profits versus The Usos (c)

The Street Profits have been chasing the Usos titles. They have already proven they can beat the tag champs. The Street Profits beat the Usos in a championship contender match on the Raw a couple of weeks ago. That win earned them a shot at the titles at WWE Money In The Bank. This is the best the Usos have ever been. They are asserting their dominance, and claim no team can beat them. Whenever you face the Usos, they are not the only ones you have to worry about. You’re going to have to keep their head on a swivel, as Sami Zayn and Paul Heyman might come into play.

These are two of the best tag-teams in WWE, so I have high expectations for this match, and I think it will deliver. The Usos always put on a good match, and the Street Profits are no different. Although I think we are going to see the downfall of the bloodline, I don’t think they’re dropping the titles yet.

Predictions

Mark: The Usos (c)

Garrett: The Street Profits

Max: The Usos (c)

Jiarmani: The Usos (c)

*Smackdown Women’s Championship Match*

Natalya versus Ronda Rousey (c)

Ronda Rousey recently had a very short stint of open challenges for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. She now faces her rival Natalya. Natalya won a six-pack challenge to earn herself a shot at the title. Both of these women are submission specialists, so it is going to be a battle of submissions. These women simply don’t like each other. Natalya has been coming at Ronda in the past weeks. She even had a spectacular promo where she dressed up as her. Even down to the eye makeup and hair, everything was the same, and it was brilliant.

I think this match could surprise a lot of people. Natalya is often overlooked and underappreciated by fans. I think she is going to put on a great performance and prove she is still relevant in WWE. Ronda is looking to prove her submission is superior and pick up a big win against a veteran of the company. I think we are going to get a returning Charlotte Flair, setting up a match for SummerSlam.

Predictions

Mark: Ronda Rousey (c)

Garrett: Ronda Rousey (c)

Max: Ronda Rousey (c)

Jiarmani: Ronda Rousey (c)

*Raw Women’s Championship Match*

Carmella vs Bianca Belair (c)

Bianca Belair was originally set to face Rhea Ripley at WWE Money In The Bank. Rhea Ripley got injured and is not medically cleared to compete. Carmella earned a shot at the title by winning a fatal five-way to determine the next challenger. This is the first time we have seen Carmella since she got married in April of this year. Carmella is a former Smackdown Woman’s Champion, but has never held the Raw Women’s Championship.

Although Carmella wouldn’t have been my first choice, I think she is a little underrated. She is fully capable of putting together a good match. Pairing her with someone as good as Belair is either going to elevate her or expose her for not being able to keep up. Just like the other woman’s title match, I think this is just to set up a feud for SummerSlam with a returning Bayley.

Predictions

Mark: Bianca Belair (c)

Garrett: Bianca Belair (c)

Max: Bianca Belair (c)

Jiarmani: Bianca Belair (c)

*Women’s Money In The Bank Match*

Lacey Evans vs Liv Morgan vs Alexa Bliss vs Raquel Rodriguez vs Asuka vs Shotzi vs Becky Lynch

These seven women earned a shot in the match by qualifying for it. Becky Lynch was the last to earn a shot in the match. She won an elimination fatal five-way match to secure the final spot. The Money In The Bank match is simple. The first person to climb a ladder and grab the briefcase wins. They earn a contract for whatever title they desire, and they can cash it in anytime, anywhere for up to a year.

This is a very talented group of woman. I think they are going to tear it down and put on one hell of a match. I’m very excited to watch this and see who comes out on top. I think Becky Lynch is going to win, reversing her recent downfall from the top.

Predictions

Mark: Becky Lynch

Garrett: Liv Morgan

Max: Becky Lynch

Jiarmani: Liv Morgan

*Men’s Money In The Bank Match*

Seth Rollins vs Sheamus vs Drew McIntyre vs Omos vs Sami Zayn vs Riddle vs ???

Just like the women’s match, all of these men earned their way into the match. Riddle was the last to join by winning a battle royal and earning himself a spot in the match. Money In The Bank is famous for having high spots. I think we are going to get some crazy moments in this one. It is a mix of heavy hitters and men who aren’t afraid to take it to the sky.

This one has potential to be really good. All the talent is there to put on a memorable match. There are high-flyers and heavyweights, so there is no telling what is going to happen. I’m sure there will be a fair share of high spots and body’s flying around. This is a good group of wrestlers, so I’m really excited to watch this go down. I think Seth Rollins is going to win it all and have him and Becky Lynch, his wife, as Money In The Bank winners. As of writing this, the last persona has not been announced yet. This will be updated once it is announced.

Predictions

Mark: Seth Rollins

Garrett: Seth Rollins

Max: Seth Rollins

Jiarmani: Riddle

Returns

Mark: Charlotte Flair returns after the Smackdown Women’s Championship match. Becky Lynch returns after the Raw Women’s championship match.

Max: John Cena returns to set up a match against Theory at SummerSlam. Bayley returns to confront Bianca Belair.
