Before I even begin, it’s only fair for me to state my fair and honest opinion on Kevin Hart… I’m not really a fan. He seems like a good dude in real life, I just don’t find him funny. I’m not sure I would crack a smile during one of his stand ups. The Man From Toronto? Oh, I’m so in.
The Man From Toronto is Kevin Hart’s best movie ever. I say all that because if I’m a fan of this movie while not really being the biggest Kevin Hart fan, then you really should watch it. It’s number one on the Netflix charts for a reason.
I’ll do my best to not give any spoilers so you can enjoy the movie yourself. No spoilers. You are good to read the rest of this blog without having the movie spoiled, I promise.
Long story short, Kevin Hart’s character finds himself in quite a predicament. He’s fallen on some hard times but at least he’s got his girl to fall back on. A celebration is coming where he goes all out to make sure he nails this surprise for his girl. That’s when he runs into The Man From Toronto. I’m not going to tell you what that means or even who the man from Toronto is. All I can tell you is this movie rocks.
They nailed this one. It wasn’t the corny Kevin Hart type of movie either. This one was spontaneous and funny in key moments. Solid all the way through from start to finish. Again, I’m not really a Kev Hart fan. This movie was by far his best work. Woody Harrelson is damn funny too playing the role as a trained killer.
