Why Drafting Ashton Jeanty Should Be Considered A Non-Starter

Okay, I’ll admit the headline is a bit clickbaity but you’re here so mission accomplished. Let me just get this out of the way now. Drafting Ashton Jeanty based on his current draft day cost should be considered a non-starter. Is that better?

Now that we get that out of the way, enjoy this video ^ right here.

If you didn’t watch the video and just skipped to the end… Let’s just make one thing very, very, very clear. For Jeanty to be currently worth his NFL Draft status, he needs to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. If Jeanty is not a generational prospect, people do understand that the GM that drafts him is an insane person who needs to be fired immediately.

If you disagree, you just have no clue how this stuff works and it’s not really arguable. I don’t hate the Boise State running back. He’s a real player. I just don’t think he’s better than TreVeyon Henderson and if there isn’t a sizeable gap it’s a total suicide mission to turn the card in for Jeanty.

I encourage you to watch the video because we go through an entire NFL Draft simulator to explain exactly why you cannot draft Jeanty at the current draft price. If you take anything from this video, it’s that you need to understand that if you pick a player in the top ten, they have to be a blue chip Hall of Fame-worthy type of player. If that isn’t the case… trade down.
