Way Too Early 2024 Fantasy Football Advice

We were victorious in the Matthew Berry challenge this year! Just like Sean Allen before that, Berry was equally humiliated by me. Somehow we live in a world where a guy making millions of dollars per year gets absolutely crushed by a washed-up wrestler that nobody wanted to hire. The proof is in the pudding. Now that I’ve successfully dethroned the face of fantasy football, I figured it would be a good time to release some way-too-early advice for the 2024 season.

This isn’t in any particular order. Just going to list out some thoughts for early strategies to start thinking about for next season.

Josh Allen Is Established As QB1

It’s just not a discussion. Over the last four years, the Bills quarterback has finished as QB1 in three of them. The lone exception is 2022 where he finished second to Patrick Mahomes by 12 total points. I know nobody wants to hear it but Allen is the best quarterback in the league. Let’s make sure we treat him as such in fantasy.

You can’t tackle him. The rushing numbers will always be there. He’s still playing hero ball until Buffalo gets a real head coach in place. Allen accounted for 42 touchdowns during the fantasy season this year. He also scored 42 in 2022. He’s got at least another three years of pure dominance and nobody else is close. You can pretend otherwise but you’re only hurting yourself.

Zero RB Is Real

Christian McCaffrey is a different breed. He outscored everyone by a country mile. Excluding him you had names like Kyren Williams, Raheem Mostert, and Rachaad White inside the top ten scoring running backs this year. For a cup of coffee before getting hurt Keaton Mitchell looked like a league winner as an undrafted rookie.

Running backs used to win fantasy leagues. They still do but you have to be smart about it. Invest all of your resources in the best receivers you can. Find the best running backs you can after that. If you’re building your team any other way you’re a dinosaur.

Travis Kelce Is Fried

We have a changing of the guard at the tight end position. I had Travis Kelce and he absolutely killed me during the fantasy playoffs. We knew he would slow down eventually but that day is now here. Kelce still finished as TE3 but is no longer worth premium resources.

The tight end spot is back to being a crapshoot. Make sure you get a good one but don’t overspend in order to do so.

Invest In Kyle Pitts

I’m saying this now because I want the credit when it happens. Kyle Pitts will be a top 5 fantasy tight end in 2024 barring injury. I guarantee it.

I see the signs. Arthur Smith will be fired and Pitts will blossom. Plus, if you’re smart you know the deal with tight ends. Something I talked about in the past trying to convince you to fade early career Pitts.

The truth is unless you’re Sam LaPorta, most tight ends take a lot of time to hit.

Jimmy Graham did nothing until his age 25 season.

Tony Gonzalez didn’t pop until year three age 23.

Antonio Gates didn’t hit until age 24.

Pitts will enter age 24 next year and started to heat up during the final stages of the 2023 season. I want him in every league and this is the first year I’m saying that. You’re welcome in advance.

Side note: I’m proud of Garrett for posting his article before mine. I’ve had this in drafts for days until the video edit got done on the Berry challenge. Young grasshopper is gaining wisdom.

Don’t Undersell Offseason Changes

It’s way too early for me to go any further. My last piece of advice is to pay attention to the coaching changes. Free agency signings. Read my draft notes. You’re in good hands here. Did any other fantasy expert have the balls to challenge Matthew Berry and then proceed to dominate him? Didn’t think so.

Shane Steichen from last year is a perfect example. We know he can really coach now. Use that kind of stuff to your advantage.
