WATCH: Knicks fans chant ‘F–k you’ to Reggie Miller while he was calling Game 2

The New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers are squaring off in the second round of the 2023-24 NBA playoffs.

Now, if you know anything about either of these two teams’ history, they met six times in the postseason in the 1990s–half coming in the conference finals–splitting the series at three apiece. It was a heated rivalry at the time that died down over time.

But there’s still no love lost between the two sides.

As a result of the Knicks’ 130-121 Game 2 win Wednesday, fans inside Madison Square Garden chanted “F–k you, Reggie” to former Pacers guard Reggie Miller … who was calling the game on TNT’s national broadcast.

Better yet, New York’s Josh Hart hilariously reminded Miller what they were chanting, too.

After the game, Hart, who finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists, commented that he “wanted to make sure” that Miller heard what was said.

Miller poured some gasoline on the fire pit before the game, which may or may not have contributed to the arena-wide chant.

“People are like ‘aren’t you worried about going back to NYC & calling a game?'” he said. “No. I’ve owned this city. I’ve owned this building.”

If I were Miller, I’d feel invigorated. Regardless of what you said before the game, you’ve probably had to do something right if the opposing crowd chose to chant “F you” to you over two decades after continuously breaking their hearts.

That must feel good, right? Or am I the only one?

Miller, a five-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA honoree, was nicknamed the “Knick Killer” for his clutch performances, including scoring eight points in 8.9 seconds in 1994-95 while signaling the choke symbol to Knick fan friend Spike Lee.

Miller averaged 23.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 35 career playoff games against the Knicks, tallying 12 25-point performances and seven 30-point outings.

This series marks only the second time each team has played in the postseason since 1999-00, but with a new twist between study guards Tyrese Haliburton and Jalen Brunson, who’s arguably been the best player leaguewide these playoffs.

Both teams are young and exciting to watch in their own way. Who knows, maybe we get Knicks fans chanting this at Haliburton (like they do Trae Young, at the most obscure moments) down the line, or get Pacer fans chanting that at Brunson, who’s averaged 36.0 points in the first two games of this series.
