Watch: Mortal Kombat 1 official announcement trailer

It is about that time for Mortal Kombat fans as a new game is on the horizon. Mortal Kombat is an all-time gaming franchise that has many people still tuning in for new content. The fighting and action-adventure gaming series started back in 1992 with the original Mortal Kombat. Now, fans are getting another entry to the franchise with the interestingly named Mortal Kombat 1. The trailer can be watched below.

Mortal Kombat 1, which a lot of fans are calling Mortal Kombat 12, appears to be picking up after the ending of Mortal Kombat 11.

The new era established by the last game remains as Fire God Liu Kang is now in control of the timelines. MK 9-11 were great games with amazing stories, but it seems like the series is going in a new direction with their latest game. However, it appears to be more of a soft reboot without making the old games meaningless.

The timeline is reset and in Liu Kang’s new timeline, he offers players the choice to determine their own story in a sense. This direction is a fun and interesting new feeling for fans as the anticipation continues to build for more news about the game.

The trailer shows fan-favorite characters such as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kitana, Mileena and MK villain staple Shang Tsung. Also, the trailer demonstrates its beautiful cinematics and graphics as well as its impressive gore and carnage that is depicted throughout the franchise.

Mortal Kombat 1’s official release date is September 19, 2023.
